Bobbie Ashley Sanchez
Bobbie Ashley Sanchez has been playing classical violin for eighteen years. She received her early training from Sandra Wood, Cathy Alonzo, and Rocky Lee. Through high school, Ms. Sanchez studied under the direction of Junko Hayashi, Ed Persi, Bill Fitzpatrick and Mischa Lefkowitz of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. She gained extensive orchestral experience as a high school youth in the Capistrano Unified School District Honor Orchestra (1997-2004), the Glendora Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Santiago Strings youth Orchestra, Saddleback Symphony Orchestra, Virtuosi Strings Chamber Ensemble and the Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra sitting as Principal Second, Assistant Concertmaster, and Concertmaster. Summer music programs Ms. Sanchez has participated as both student and instructor include the Violin House Music Camp, the Southern California Conservatory of the Arts, and California Music Clinic.
In summer 2007, Ms. Sanchez studied at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory under the prestige Professor Sergio Esmilia. She has been awarded a Music Associates Scholarship from California State University Fullerton and the Miriam and Thomas Warne Stringed Instrument Scholarship. A recent graduate with honors, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education with an emphasis in Instrumental Music, studying violin under Dr. Ernest Salem. She is a member of the CSUF Symphony Orchestra, CSUF Chamber Orchestra, Corona Symphony Orchestra, Orange County Collegiate Orchestra, and the Golden Key International Honor Society. Ms. Sanchez is a string coach in San Clemente High School and Shorecliffs Middle School, as well as the director of the Ashley Music Studio. She looks forward to pursuing her Teaching Credentials in the fall at CSUF, as well as continuing violin studies under the direction of Dr. Ernest Salem, Cal State L.A.’s Fung Ho, and Mr. Haroutune Bedelian of UCI.
